Phil is a qualified Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, and Sports Massage Therapist who graduated from Loughborough University and trained with Premier International. He began his career in leading health clubs including Holmes Place and Virgin Active, and later worked internationally with Club Med in Paris.
Alongside his fitness career, Phil served as a firefighter in London, developing a strong, disciplined approach to training, resilience, and real-world physical performance. He later went on to build his own successful Personal Training business, helping clients achieve lasting results through safe, effective, and personalised training.
Phil is passionate about staying active and leading by example. He has a strong interest in board sports such as surfing, kitesurfing, wakeboarding, and snowboarding, is a qualified kitesurf instructor, and writes a regular fitness column for The Kitemag.

Lisa made a successful career change from working as a Lettings Manager in London to retraining and qualifying as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor with The Training Rooms. She began her fitness career working in health clubs, gaining valuable experience coaching a wide range of clients.
After marrying Phil and relocating to the countryside, Lisa combined her skills and passion with his to co-found Soames Personal Training, where she now helps clients build confidence, improve fitness, and achieve sustainable results through supportive, personalised training.
Lisa genuinely loves working with people and guiding them towards their goals — often building strong, long-lasting relationships along the way. Outside of training sessions, she balances life as a mum with staying active, particularly enjoying running. She recently completed the Hastings Half Marathon and is always looking for her next challenge.

David is a highly experienced Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist with a degree in Sports Science and a strong background working in professional health club environments. He also served in the military, where he developed a disciplined, results-focused approach to training while understanding the importance of injury prevention and mobility.
David specialises in weight loss, muscle gain, strength development, toning, mobility and stretching, and creating safe, effective workouts for seniors. His training style is supportive, adaptable, and tailored to each individual’s goals and abilities — whether that’s improving performance, building confidence, or simply moving better in everyday life.
Outside of work, David stays active through skateboarding, climbing, and surfing, which fuels his passion for functional movement and keeps his training methods practical, dynamic, and fun.
