One of the success stories of 2018 was Lisa’s amazing personal achievements. She has trained with us since November 2017. Lisa has come so far since suffering a delibatating injury to her back and proves that with a little hard work an dedication you can achieve anything.
Lisa: “Agonizing pain running down spine, shoulder and shooting electric shock type of pains down my arms. Emergency surgery in cervical spine area in May 2016. Removed 2 worn out discs and replaced with titanium discs then fused the vertabrae together. Also removal of bone growths that were sticking into spinal nerves. 5 days hospital. 3 months at home, no lifting, cleaning or driving. 18 months nothing physical besides gentle walking. I honestly thought I would never recover as i was completely fragile and still traumatised. 18 months after op, doctor gave me the go ahead to start living normal and exercising again. I started boxercise (everyone said i was crazy and not the best choice after a spine op but i took it easy at first. Got stronger. Did what i could at my own pace and capability) (Phil you were so caring and understanding that it made it easy to keep going back) then started PT. At first twice a week then increased to 3 times. I was also doing Total Fitness every monday night. Its now been 14 months since i started training. I feel amazing. My training sessions help me get through so much physically and keeps me calm and focused mentally too. I have lost 8 kilos, gained strength, flexibility & my movement back. My goal was to complete the Impossible Run in October 2018, which I did. My confidence and respect for myself for being disciplined and dedicated has made me a happier person through a time that was super challenging. Phil you made this possible through your dedication, friendship and professionalism in helping me get though my most difficult time in my life. Thanks buddy”
